Fair Use Policy
Effective Date: February 28, 2026
1. Purpose
This Fair Use Policy defines acceptable usage of the Veremun API to ensure reliable service for all users. All API consumers are expected to operate within the limits of their subscription tier and use the Services responsibly.
2. Permitted Use
The Veremun API is designed for real-time, on-demand contractor license verification. Permitted uses include:
- Verifying individual contractor licenses during business workflows
- Integrating license checks into compliance platforms and hiring systems
- Building applications that query contractor data for legitimate business purposes
- Periodic re-verification of previously checked contractors
3. Prohibited Use
The following activities are prohibited and may result in immediate suspension:
- Bulk scraping: Systematically downloading or harvesting data for offline storage or redistribution
- Data resale: Reselling raw Veremun API data without adding substantial independent value
- Abuse: Automated requests designed to exhaust rate limits, test system boundaries, or degrade service
- Circumvention: Using multiple accounts, rotating API keys, or proxy networks to bypass rate limits
- Competitive harvesting: Using the API to build a competing dataset or verification service
- Unauthorized access: Sharing API keys with third parties or using keys outside the scope of your account
4. Rate Limits by Tier
Each subscription tier includes a monthly allocation of API lookups. Limits reset at the start of each billing cycle.

Enterprise customers requiring higher volumes should contact us for custom arrangements. Requests exceeding your tier's limit will receive a 429 Too Many Requests response.
5. Enforcement
Veremun monitors API usage to ensure fair access for all users. Enforcement actions may include:
- Warning: Notification of policy violation with a request to adjust usage
- Throttling: Temporary reduction in request rate for accounts exceeding limits
- Suspension: Temporary deactivation of API access pending review
- Termination: Permanent revocation of API access for repeated or egregious violations
Veremun will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking enforcement action, except in cases of abuse that threaten service availability.
